The 150+ Survivors Who Testified Against Nassar

“… as you get stronger, as you overcome, because you will, he gets weaker and he will wither away. Prison is no place for a human being to live.” – Judge Aquilina

Watching the sentencing hearings of serial child molester Larry Nassar was one of the most horrifying yet deeply inspiring moments I’ve witnessed. With immense strength these women stood in the same room as their abuser and told their stories, delivering impact statements in painful testimony against him. Aly Raisman’s statement was one of hundreds of voices speaking about the injustices that occurred at Nassar’s hands. When I watched her speak, I felt so proud and hopeful for the future.

Anna Kendrick’s Grammys Outfit

And now, for something completely different. Anna Kendrick wore this suit with a gorgeous pair of lilac heels to the 2018 Grammys and it changed my life.

The 2018 Winter Olympics

The winter Olympics were a highlight of the year. Watching veteran competitors in their likely last Olympics ever is always emotional, just as it is to watch first-time Olympians swoop in and steal the show.

*Bad joke warning!* I love ice dancing and figure skating (go figure). Among others, I found myself rooting for Mirai Nagasu (who made history as the first American woman to land a triple axel at the Olympics), the graceful gold medalist Yuzuru Hanyu from team Japan, Tessa Virtue & Scott Moir team Canada’s dreamboat ice dancing pair, and Adam Rippon, who quickly became America’s figure skating darling. This article by Chris Schleicher was also a favorite.

I talk a lot about TV and movies, so I’ll just mention a few of my favorites that I don’t think I’ve written about before now!

  • Ugly Delicious: Watching chef David Chang geek out about food is one of life’s greatest pleasures.
  • Goblin: Are you ready to be sad and happy at the same time? I’ve got a show for you!
  • Paddington & Paddington 2: The purest cinematic adventure(s) you can experience.
  • She-Ra and the Princesses of Power: Honestly this show was so much fun! Who doesn’t love a cartoon about the power of friendship?
  • Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok-joo: A hilarious coming-of-age tale about couple of jocks falling in love.
  • Mamma Mia: Here We Go Again!: An absolute delight from start to finish. This is my official review…
